Mr. McGinn would like to see Light Rail running through Ballard, Interbay, Queen Anne, Belltown, downtown, West Seattle, maybe Fremont, too.

The TIGER (Surface Transportation Discretionary Grants) program allows for grants for major projects. Washington is applying for grants for the following projects:
SR 520 Floating Bridge Replacement
Columbia River Crossing
US 395 North Spokane Corridor
All of these projects are major billion dollar projects that are vital to transportation in Washington.

This project will install variable speed and lane control signs on SR 520 and I 90. These are very similar to the same methods used in Europe.

This is the project to widen and enhance SR 520 between the Floating Bridge and Downtown Redmond. It will include new HOV lanes, direct HOV access, median transit stops and will move the HOV lanes between I-405 and Redmond to the inside.

Proposal to add limited access HOV/HOT lanes, enhanced interchanges and BRT to the I-405/SR-167 corridors.
Not only would this provde an alternative to I-5 for North/South traffic, it would add options to one of the most congested corridors in the state.
